There was no escape from metal water bottles, especially Stanley cups. The brand with the iconic winged bear logo that comes in all kinds of vibrant, colorful designs, is everywhere. I’ve seen them at my school, the mall, gym, library, and even hospital, and I personally think they’re overhyped.
Since 2019, Stanley cups have become one of the most sought after accessories, all thanks to social media. However, the trend isn’t as popular as before as it seems that people have moved onto Owala water bottles instead.
I feel like the mass purchasing of Stanleys was at its highest peak during Christmas last year. For instance, one girl bought more than $3000 worth of Stanleys just because she wanted to start a collection.
I personally don’t understand the craze for either brands. They’re just water bottles, not lightsabers or flying cars. Then again, I’ve noticed people are trying to drink more water, so at least they’re not using up plastic water bottles to throw away.
While the fad isn’t as popular as before, people are still flocking to buy and gather Stanley cups of any design.
I’ll never understand why people are so fanatical about $45 water bottles, but people are still buying them like hotcakes, so they must be doing something right.
