If you have ears, you probably listen to music every now and then, but where is the best place to get your daily dose of tunes?
Out of the many different music streaming services, there are three neck-and-neck contenders for the #1 spot, but only one can be the winner!
SoundCloud
The classic white cloud was started in the early 2000s as a way for artists to release their music easier. Without a subscription, you can still access a wide selection of music with ads. More well known music will be locked behind the Go+ plan, costing $10/month. Apart from being able to upload your music, there isn’t anything else that makes SoundCloud stand out.
Spotify
Spotify was created to be a successor to the first music streaming app, Napster, but a lot more legal and a lot more green. Like SoundCloud, you can listen to music for free with a lot of limitations, most importantly not being able to queue up or select music. Upgrading to premium is definitely worth it, with $11/month getting you access to curated playlists, podcasts, and even audiobooks.
Apple Music
Apple’s very own music player used to be called ITunes, and is the only app out of the three that doesn’t let you listen for free. On the bright side, Apple Music is cheaper than Spotify, coming in at $10/month. Apple music has to upper hand in audio quality too, supporting Dolby Atmos and even lossless audio. One of the biggest downsides of Apple Music is that it is only available for Apple products.
These three platforms have their pros and cons, but Spotify has the most bang for your buck; Spotify wrapped, curated playlist, and accessibility. All those features make the extra dollar a month worth it. Almost 640 million people use Spotify, and it makes sense why so many people would.
