The Wildcat volleyball team is spiking into a fresh era, with new head coach Emily Hubacek at the helm.
The Wildcats are the 2025 7-6A district champions, and a lot of credit goes to Hubacek’s desire to be the best possible coach for her players.
“The girls in this program are hardworking, kind, and love what they do, which in turn makes me want to be the best coach I can be for them,” Hubacek said.
Relationships and trust are vital to the success of a team. Without them, success can be hard to achieve. Hubacek has immediately built relationships with the players.
Hailey Jacobus (12) has been in the program all four years and has seen a difference with having a new coach.
“One thing that I noticed that has been different from past years is Coach H’s immediate effort to build individual relationships with every player in the program, which I believe helped the team be able to trust in her and her vision for us right off the bat,” Jacobus stated.
Hubacek has not only made a tremendous impact on the court, but also on her players looking to play at the collegiate level.
She played Division 1 volleyball at Texas A&M Corpus-Christi and the Texas A&M club team, and has not been shy on giving advice to the players looking to play collegiately.
Jacobus is committed to play volleyball at the United States Naval Academy and has received support from her coaches.
“Having coaches that understand the recruiting process and the mental toll it can take on an athlete makes for a really great support and advice system,” Jacobus mentioned.
Coach Hubacek has had a tremendous impact so far and there is a lot to look forward to.
