The Lake Highlands High School Wrestling team finished this season with a bang, sending seven students to the State Wrestling Championships.

“Overall, both the guys and girls team had very successful seasons,” Coach Wainscott commented. “The girls team… placed at several tournaments together as a team and had individual success along the way. The guys team was led by a strong group of seniors and had lots of success as well.”

Sarah Conner, a senior who placed second in State, said that she “Had a lot of fun this season, I learned and improved a lot; I pushed myself and rested at the right times.”

Coach Wainscott said about Conner that “Many people can’t quite comprehend what she did because they are unfamiliar with the sport of wrestling.  Her journey of a nearly perfect season is incredibly hard to do”

“Sarah Conner and her season is quite remarkable,” Coach Wainscott mentioned.
