For everyone, getting their nails done means something different. For most men it’s probably just a trusty nail clipper, and for women it might be a colorful set with designs on it.
Either way, there are student-run businesses right here in LHHS for what you need done.
If you want to support students here while feeling beautiful as well, seniors Paula Morales and Majetzy Hernandez have you covered!

Starting at the age of 13, Morales used YouTube tutorials to learn how to do nails, which she now does for others at her home.
“I love making girls feel beautiful and love when they share my work,” she added.
Morales offers manicures, which are $20, and acrylic nails, which start at $45 and increase depending on length and designs.
Her availability is very open, stating that she will “gladly take anyone at any time.”
Morales is a part of the cosmetology program.
“She is creative and very knowledgeable about the trend in nails to meet guests’ needs,” cosmetology teacher Brandie James commented on Morales’ skills.

Hernandez also started learning to do nails on YouTube, as well as, practicing on herself and her family members.
“I loved getting my nails done but it would be too much money wasted,” she commented on her reason to learn nails. “Once I got the hang of it, I loved learning new techniques and designs.”
Her services include acrylic nails, overlay with builder gel, and pedicures with acrylic or gel toes.
Acrylic toes and nails start at $45 and gel toes and nails start at $30. The price increases depending on the length of the nails and the details put onto them.
Hernandez is also in cosmetology, which has helped her get a licence.
“She listens to her guests’ needs and wants, and her creativity shows her knowledge of the latest trends in nails,” James mentioned.
