I’m sure we’ve all wondered at some point in our lives what it would be like to time travel. The concept has seen plenty of play in the media for decades now, but none have done it quite like Link Click.
This Chinese animated series follows the story of Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, two young men who have spectacular time travel abilities. Usually, you would expect a setup like this to progress into the typical save-the-world narrative, but Link Click primarily focuses on helping the struggles of an individual. It’s an interesting spin on the concept we’ve seen so many times.
Despite the supernatural elements, many of the issues tackled are relevant to today’s society. Life, death, and grief are the biggest of the overarching themes, but the show also addresses problems such as abuse and human trafficking in a genuine light.
Now is a great time to get into the series. There’s plenty of content to consume, and even more is on its way this year.
The big event to look out for is Season 3 which will begin airing in October, but there’s also a series of short episodes coming out April 4 and a live-action Japanese drama adaptation premiering April 11.
The series has also spawned a number of original songs and animations that can be found on YouTube from the channel Made by Bilibi.
As Chinese media, Link Click has had difficulty finding a strong western audience, but it has been slowly gaining popularity with new fans being brought in through edits on TikTok and Instagram. Additionally, the catchy intro song, “Dive Back in Time,” amassed over a million views, giving the series more attention.
Link Click is a master of emotional storytelling, and I hope it can gain the recognition it deserves in the years to come. If you’re looking for something that has thrills, heartbreak, and beauty all in one package, I highly recommend giving Link Click a go. It’s certain to become an immediate favorite!
