After having an overall wins-losses record of 21 to 11 for their 2024 season, the girls basketball ended their season as bi-district champions
During their second game of play-offs, the varsity girls lost their game against Hebron High School with a score of 51-73.
After tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, captain Lizzy Kellam, 12, said that it was a struggle to “get back in the groove of things” although she wouldn’t change a thing about this season.
Kellam said one memorable moment would be winning bi-district champions.
“It was a hard-fought game; we pulled through with the win,” Kellam said.
“#EveryONEmatters” was the motto for the season. Kate Duffield, 10, explained that this motto means that every rep (practice), every teammate, and every game matters.
Duffield was chosen to become a captain this year and mentioned that “it was difficult to learn how to be a leader for my team.”
Aaliyah Taylor, 11, when commenting about things she wished she did differently
“I wish I cherished the team dinners more,” Taylor said.
Team bonding was something the team cherished this year.
“It was lots of fun and I loved becoming closer with all the girls and coaches,” Duffield said.
