There was a period in my life when I didn’t exercise at all, and I wasn’t eating the best. During this time I felt big, uncomfortable, and unconfident. I didn’t realize that all I needed to do was exercise and move my body, but when I did, I started to feel and look better.

In the context of feeling physically better, exercise can help in many ways. When you start working out, your body will burn more calories than normal and therefore you will start to lose weight, this will go faster if you eat healthy whole foods. In addition to losing weight, your muscles and bones will also get stronger, as well as your immune system. Working out daily, even if it’s just going for a walk, can help reduce the risk of getting common cancers and diseases.

The benefits don’t stop there; exercising can also help you mentally. When you work out, and sweat, your brain also releases endorphins, which helps prevent falling into a depressive state. When you’re constantly moving your body, your mind also gets stronger, which helps clear mental fog and overall thought processes.

The endorphins released in the brain can also help emotionally. Tying back into not falling into a depressive episode, working out can also reduce anxiety, which in turn can help increase energy levels. When energy levels increase, stress levels decrease.

Now, some people may say, well I don’t workout and I don’t feel bad. If you are one of those people, I want you to take this into consideration. You could increase your blood pressure over time. When you’re not moving your body and not helping your immune system, you could be at risk of becoming overweight and getting heart disease.

Overall, exercising can help you in ways that you don’t realize: mentally, physically, and emotionally. You should always want to be healthy and the easiest way to do that is by moving your body around every single day, even if it’s just going for a walk.
